Newpaper Article, Summer 2003, “Yoga – what
a relief!”
Certainly
in the last few years more and more people are turning
to different practices to relief the stress of our
daily lives. Some are choosing yoga retreats. Women
are the main client base, although men are also finding
time to explore this practice as well. On these yoga
retreats, it is common to experience many hours of
hard, blissful yoga, fabulous scenery composed of
mountains and valleys, forests and rivers, and taste-bud
tingling vegetarian fare. One comment from a participant
involved in this experience was “the yoga wasn’t
as deeply satisfying as I had hoped”. Which
begs the question, why? And what does she mean “deeply”?
What is the mystery and what in our environment is
causing our stress, anxiety and dissatisfaction?
Could
it be environmental toxins and minor pollutants in
very small quantities and something is causing an
imbalance in our systems. We have discovered common
plastics are mixed with a product called phenol. The
reason this is done are so plastics do not cloud.
We all love to drink from crystal clear plastic bottles
don't we? Have you ever seen a car circa 1990 and
the headlight plastic cover or the licence plate cover
are cloudy? We suspect this is because there were
no phenols used in that application back in 1990.
Phenols are also used in clear deodorants and shampoos.
Here is what is so profound!!!. The molecular structure
and or properties of phenols used in plastics to keep
them clear are a clone of Estrogen!!! yikes! The phenols
from those clear shampoos, deodorants and clear plastic
bottles could then be permeating into our bodies.
It is not surprising that our bodies are struggling
to keep their hormonal balance. It is not surprising
that the hormones of many women and men are unbalanced.
We speculate, either one of two things are happening.
We have to much estrogen (due to phenols and silver
tooth fillings etc.)which is causing the testosterone
to be subdued/bound up or the properties/molecular
structure in Phenols are just over powering and possibly
causing this unbalanced state. (see J.O.L. product
notes "Saw Palmetto") What is clear, is, it is all
not yet totally understood. This Phenol information
was taken from a report on T.V. called "Sex Under
Seige" from several years ago and one I watched with
great interest.
Perhaps a system of goodness, nourishment and herbals
is the missing piece of the current puzzle. It has
been proven to work! Mother Nature for optimal
health, what a novel concept.

Excerpt from Michelle Weiner-Davis, Author
of Sex Starved Marriages: A Couple’s Guide to Boosting
Their Marriage Libido.
“People who have trouble rebuilding
their relationships often have sex problems.” She
goes on to say, “Infrequent and non passionate
romance creates a void in the marriage.”
If the ability to desire is gone or unavailable,
no change can be made. Forcing this change is next
to impossible. Many articles have been written about
the effects of saw palmetto and nettle tops (link
to saw palmetto and nettle tops), these two herbs
have the ability to free up bound testosterone or
create a balanced homonal state in a woman’s
body, which allows a less dramatic and a clearer,
more energetic and happier vision of the daily and
weekly events in a woman’s life. Add Lady Vigor
and Fermented Soya for a natural boost of testosterone
and estrogen and say good bye stress and anxiety
and hello warmth and clear thinking.

Newspaper Article by Negrita Jayde titled, “It’s
All About Desire”.
In this article, Negrita
speaks of inspiration or desperation, the keys to
really wanting to change. Todd and Pauline wanted
to change but…they needed help to make that
change. Perhaps the person who needs to make the change
isn’t aware because they have slipped slowly
into the negative situation they are in. It is reported
that by freeing up the bound testosterone in the female
body with saw palmetto and nettle tops and by adding
green oats for assistance in feelings of wellbeing
and energy, adding cayenne, gingko, ginseng and rosemary
for circulation, it is now distinctly possible to
achieve this change. Ed.
Marie Clare Magazine, June 2003, titled, “Beating
Stress”.
It is reported in this article that we,
as adults, have forgotten to breathe properly; breathing
in deeply, exhaling and breathing in deeply again will
assist you if repeated regularly. This has some truth
to it, as this is the premise of meditation, however
this is only useful for short periods of time while you
are focused on breathing.

Local Newspaper Article September 19, 2003,
titled, “Hormone Patch Boosts Women’s Sex
Drive: Study”.
A patch to boost sexual desire in women has shown
promise in early clinical testing, by Proctor and
Gamble. This test was done on women that had both
ovaries removed. What is in the patch is testosterone,
adding credence to other studies showing testosterone
as an important composition and a daily necessity
of the female body.

Anxiety
and stress…it’s everywhere! - These magazines
know how to sell.
The article goes on with the question, “Is
Stress Making You Sick?”. Apparently research is
constantly turning up evidence on how damaging psychological
stress can be to physical health. They go on to list
catching colds, insomnia, neck and back pain, headache,
skin break outs and upset stomach as potential results
of stress. What about depression, (see below) stress,
fear, anxiety and malaise. The article continues with
suggestions of sipping warm milk, yoga, meditation, exercising,
and changing your outlook on events that happen to a
positive one instead of making the worst case scenario
of a particular incident. These are all valid comments,
however…changing anything to get in the frame of
mind for yoga (see Point of Interest #1), meditation
and doing it consistently is nothing short of Herculean.
It is reaffirmed with a little help from Mother
Nature, what can be accomplished.

Newspaper Articles in June 2003, “Disease losing
stigma”, “Depression hits all walks of life”, “Awareness
grows”.
The pressures of modern times – the
human daily race, conflict, terrorism, disease, are taking
their toll on our human bodies and souls, leaving many
lost in darkness, hopelessness and despair.
Apparently for most, it is the occasional
day or week and life goes on, but for others – those
susceptible to depression even in its mildest form – stress
and anxiety is enough to put them over the edge and into
a depressed state lasting days weeks or months.
Through our research, it appears that prescriptions
for all classes of anti-depressants have risen 95%
in the last 5 years. It affects young and old, men
and women, up to about a third of our population. This
coincides with the use of Phenols as was discussed
in Points of Interest #1 ?

“Dear
Ellie” Article November 15, 2003, titled, “Try
finding out why wife is not interested in sex”.
Q. Is it right to divorce someone because
of lack of sex? I still have fire and desire for my wife,
but because of no sex, I’m hitting on other women.
But when I get to that point with them, I don’t
have the strength to go all the way. What should I do?
A. Oh sure, it’s as “right” (not!)
as cutting off your arm because it’s bruised, without
waiting for it to heal. I’d say your signature
should read Lack of Depth. You don’t explain what
caused the change since presumably you once had sex together.
You don’t say whether you’ve tried to understand
her reasons or provided any compassion. It’s all
about your “fire”. Well, pour some water
on it long enough to learn more about why your wife has
gone cool. Here are some causes of low libido: fatigue,
stress, illness, medication, depression, hormonal change.
Instead of patting yourself on the back for being only
halfway unfaithful, start talking to your wife with some
real caring and concern.

Newspaper Article, Fall 2003, “Nature plays cruel
trick”
Postpartum mood disorders run from the “baby
blues” which have a reasonable quick onset after
birth to postpartum psychosis and postpartum depression.
We are not going to get into these in any way other than,
as we have mentioned previously, that it makes sense
to flood your body with nutrients. During pregnancy,
the body produces high levels of hormones and after giving
birth there is a rapid drop and the system is deregulated,
says Dr. Sarah Romans from the Centre for Research on
Women’s Health in Toronto. Add to this the reported
lower level of nutrient value in foods and the need for
growth and prenatal development and you can see how the
mother could be shortchanged, turning the joy of motherhood
into a nightmare. Ed.
